PLANIT® LAUNCHES BROAD BASED GREEN INITIATIVE

Baltimore, Md – July 3, 2007 – Planit, the Baltimore-based marketing communications agency, is among the first agencies in the region to join the growing number of forward-thinking national and global companies embracing efforts to operate in a more eco-friendly manner, while also helping its clients to do the same. The agency is calling the operation, which encompasses internal, client-focused and community initiatives, Planit Green.
 
To clients, the agency will be offering the Green Option, which allows them to produce their print materials and collateral – from direct mail campaigns to corporate brand-building collateral to sales brochures – using recycled products and eco-friendly inks and dyes. From a strategic marketing perspective, the agency will also offer its clients counsel regarding how to best communicate their environmental commitment to the public.
 
“We realize we have the opportunity to make a difference,” said Planit president Matt Doud. “And we want our clients to have the same opportunity; which is why we are offering them a choice. We believe this to be an option many of our clients will need as more and more of their customers begin to make choices based in part on environmental concerns. Furthermore, we can make a much greater impact by facilitating this to our clients as well as doing it ourselves.”
 
Internally, Planit Green is defined by the agency’s formation of an internal eco-team which has been tasked with leading multiple ongoing efforts to drive down paper and energy consumption, to increase all types of recycling within the office and to ensure the use of recycled materials and supplies wherever possible. The agency also plans to continue its participation in the Renewable Choice Energy program, the same one subscribed to by Whole Foods and Sprint.
 
“The catalyst for Planit to become more eco-friendly was one of our interactive designers; he wants to share his passion for environmental issues with the agency, and urged me to look closely at how we operate.” said Doud. “Now he’s leading the internal initiative. And this is just the beginning for us.”
 
“This is something we are committed to as an organization.”
 
Next on the agency’s “green” agenda is to make a final decision on how it will share its commitment with the community.
