Baltimore's Creative Talent Shines at the 2019 AAF District 2 American Advertising Awards

The American Advertising Federation (AAF) District 2 recently announced the winners of the 2019 American Advertising Awards, and the American Advertising Federation of Baltimore (AAFB) brought home an impressive 17 district-level awards, including 3 Gold Awards and 14 Silver Awards.


Among the top honors, Mission Media was awarded a Gold Award and the prestigious “Best of Show – Interactive” for its innovative NASA Home & City Microsite. Other Gold Award recipients included idfive for the Smithsonian Institution’s Public Service Annual Report and FifteenFour for their outstanding Ciena: The Adaptive Network™ Video.


The District 2 Awards represent the second tier of the AAF’s national awards program, covering the Washington, D.C., Philadelphia, New York, and Baltimore chapters. This regional competition serves as a testament to the exceptional talent within these creative hubs.


“As part of District 2, we are in fierce competition with some of the best creative minds in the country,” said Matt McDermott, AAFB President and Creative Director at idfive. “We are proud of our winners and excited to have several moving on to the national competition. This speaks to the caliber of creative work being produced in Charm City.”


The American Advertising Awards is a three-tiered national competition, beginning with local club entrants who compete for recognition as the best in their markets. Top local winners then advance to one of 15 district competitions. Gold winners at the district level automatically progress to the national competition, where they will compete against over 40,000 entries nationwide for the prestigious National Best of Show title. The national winners will be revealed at the AAF’s annual conference, Admerica, which takes place from June 5-8, 2019, in Hollywood, Florida.
