AAF Baltimore is proud to support students who are shaping the future of advertising, marketing, and design. Each year, we award $4,000 scholarships to outstanding student creatives at Maryland colleges and universities.

These awards do more than ease the financial burden—they amplify voices, celebrate talent, and open doors.

Wendy & Matt McDermott Social Impact Scholarship Award

Fully funded by Wendy and Matt McDermott, this $4,000 award honors Maryland students who use creativity to uplift others—through nonprofit work, civic storytelling, or campaigns that drive positive change. It celebrates purpose-driven talent and the belief that great ideas can make the world better.

This $4,000 scholarship uplifts Black students in Maryland pursuing careers in advertising, marketing, and design. Created to address underrepresentation in the creative industry—especially in a majority-Black city like Baltimore—it celebrates bold ideas, fresh perspectives, and the future of inclusive creativity.
