Baltimore Advertising Agency Lands on Coveted List for 2023 Growth
Planit, an award-winning, integrated marketing agency, is pleased to announce that it secured a spot on the 2023 Inc. 5000. This is the seventh time the Baltimore-based agency landed a spot on Inc.'s list of fastest growing private companies in the U.S. and reflects the agency’s continued growth in recent years. Planit now ranks 4,360 overall on the esteemed list, 97 in Maryland, 44 in Baltimore and 417 in Advertising and Marketing, showing growth across each category.
“I’m incredibly proud of the relentless dedication of the team at Planit,” said Matt Doud, co-founder and CEO. “Our consistent ranking on this list is a testament to the team’s commitment to success, propelling us to shape the future of our industry and support our clients’ goals. This achievement showcases not just our growth, but our resilience, adaptability and passion for this industry.”
The prestigious ranking provides a data-driven look at the most successful companies within the economy’s most dynamic segment—its independent, entrepreneurial businesses. The Inc. 5000 class of 2023 represents companies that have driven rapid revenue growth while navigating inflationary pressure, the rising costs of capital, and seemingly intractable hiring challenges. Among this year’s top 500 companies, the average median three-year revenue growth rate ticked up to an astonishing 2,238 percent. In all, this year’s Inc. 5000 companies have added 1,187,266 jobs to the economy over the past three years.
In the last several years, Planit experienced significant growth in key service areas, including video production, media and public relations. The agency also added several new clients to its roster, including Toro, DuPont, Minute Rice, Success Rice, the Maryland Marketing Partnership and Preen. There was also a concerted effort in prioritizing relationships with current clients and key hires and promotions. The culmination of these strategic efforts resulted in the second consecutive year that Planit’s annual revenue hit a historical high, representing a 97% improvement over 2019, 44% improvement over 2020, and 4% over 2021 (the previous highest annual revenue year).
Planit, founded in 1995, holds the 4,360th spot on the 2023 Inc. 5000. Complete results of the Inc. 500/5000, including company profiles and an interactive database that can be sorted by industry, region and other criteria, can be found at www.inc.com/inc5000.
“Running a business has only gotten harder since the end of the pandemic,” says Inc. editor-in-chief Scott Omelianuk. “To make the Inc. 5000—with the fast growth that requires—is truly an accomplishment. Inc. is thrilled to honor the companies that are building our future.”
Companies on the 2023 Inc. 5000 are ranked according to percentage revenue growth from 2019 to 2022. To qualify, companies must have been founded and generating revenue by March 31, 2019. They must be U.S.-based, privately held, for-profit, and independent—not subsidiaries or divisions of other companies—as of December 31, 2022. (Since then, some on the list may have gone public or been acquired.) The minimum revenue required for 2019 is $100,000; the minimum for 2022 is $2 million. As always, Inc. reserves the right to decline applicants for subjective reasons. Growth rates used to determine company rankings were calculated to four decimal places.
